North Bay Photographers- Nippissing Waterfront
Spring has sprung on Lake Nippissing… well it did. For a couple days, now I’m staring at snow again. Bleh. My friend Julie and I took our kids to the nice natural shoreline of the lake to find “sea glass”, fall in streams and eat snacks. The best entertainment somehow ends up being the free kind. I think cabin fever really had a pretty good grip on our families cause it felt beyond amazing to sit in (cold, wet) sand, splash in (freezing) water and bask in the sort of warm sun. It was like a summer light at the end of the winter tunnel. We walked away with some sweet treasures and sand in/on everything. I’m SO excited for more good weather and more beach time. Maybe even some of the tremendous amount of dog poop on the shoreline will disintegrate.
It’s not like we hide inside all winter, we’re pretty outdoorsy people… but it’s like a special gift from mother nature to not have to wrestle a toddler into a snowsuit for a 1/2 hour of fresh air in -20 blizzards.
If you’re from North Bay and you never make the schlep to the awesome playground and shoreline west of the pier, you’re missing out. Check out the plan the vision for the Waterfront Masterplan that the city has been presented with. Tell them you want it. I think it’s awesome.
