Camp Kilcoo Wedding
Camp Kilcoo is a boys summer camp on Gull Lake near the town I grew up in. I LIVED for movies about camp ( ie. Meatballs, Camp Nowhere, Wet Hot American Summer). All I wanted was the kitsch of a legendary summer camp and Kilcoo provides.
Allie and Russ chose this dream venue because Russ and all his pals attended Camp Kilcoo as kids. It’s beautiful to see so many people so deeply connected to a space. Youth meets one of the most adult days of a person’s life.
Nearly 200 of their closest friends and family came from all over to celebrate. The craziest thing was the storm that rolled in and out all day. Tension peaked before the ceremony. In an epic flex, the clouds parted and the sun stayed out until we we wrapped up portraits. Basic movie stuff.
Everything about the day was handmade and beautiful. The women wore moccasins made by Allie’s mom. Her mom painted a beautiful water colour map for the guests and her Aunt blew everyone away with decor! Everything and everyone came together perfectly.
The party was bananas! Maybe flip cup helped a little.
