River and Sky 2019 Music Festival – North Bay Photographer

River and Sky Music and Camping Festival kinda feels like being sent to sleep away camp, but as adult and minus all the rashes because now you KNOW you can’t wear a wet swimsuit all day.

This incredible off grid festival is held at Fisher’s Paradise in Field, Ontario on the Sturgeon River feels like actual paradise. Rough camping, no cell service, a wood fired sauna on the sandy river beach and then there’s the music. The lineup was stacked with local and international acts on two stages… the scenic mainstage and the more intimate beach stage. It’s a little hard not to feel blissed out the entire weekend, and even harder to reintegrate back into society afterwards.

We arrived Wednesday evening to pick a prime spot for our big group and to put up our psychedelic installation. Tetra… by Studio Nude Beach, if you were curious. Since R&S is like THE most magic place to make friends, we got real cozy with fellow installation artists Paul and Noah who made a family of racoons with eyes that lit up at night.

Casper Skulls kicked everything off at the volunteer appreciation bonfire Wednesday night on the beach. I had the chance to snap some photos and then a few more as everyone recovered on the beach Thursday afternoon.
