Bistro Wedding – Queen West Toronto
Adriana and Mike chose Peter Pan Bistro for its bright but cozy vibe, fireplace, stained glass and the feeling of it being a really nice living room. Their plan was to keep it intimate with just their families and to make it easy for their children to be a part of the day. Instead of doing a big long 8 hour marathon with dinner, speeches and dancing… they chose to do a brunch.
Appetizers were served before the ceremony. No bridal party, just a reading from their friend and some words from the officiant. A toast from Mike’s mother followed and then a big delicious brunch by Peter Pan Bistro. The kids table was covered in candy, snacks and toys to keep them busy while the adult enjoyed some peace in the main room.
Of course I’m kind of leaving out how it was flu season, kids were tired, there were meltdowns and tantrums. That is the real stuff of a wedding day too and honestly things that will be remembered. Adriana and Mike totally made space for the good and the ugly to happen, to celebrate it all and not stress over the pageantry.
I loved the simplicity and elegance of their day. As a parent I appreciate the chaos of it. When there’s so many big feelings that everyone is experiencing at a wedding, its the kids that get to express it.
Here’s a couple of my fave intimate wedding:
Jackie & Lews beautiful Parkdale wedding and Steph & John’s real deal elopement!
