Chief Commanda Wedding
The Chief Commanda is a North Bay institution. The original boat carried people, freight and mail between the small communities on Nipissing beginning in 1947. Now the Commanda I is forever landlocked (retired) and serves as a scenic place to pound caesars at the waterfront. The Commanda II still taking passengers on epic sunset tours between North Bay and The French River. The boat hasn’t changed much in the last few decades. Understated and simple, because the point of the boat is to be looking out the windows. It was the perfect setting for Sarah and Matt’s intimate wedding.
After Sarah got ready, Matt met up with us at the waterfront on Lake Nipissing. Their ceremony was on the main deck and we set sail shortly after. It was incredible how quiet it was. People seemed pretty overtaken by the view. Every where I looked, there were guests just staring at the water or sunset.
Todd at Waxman spun tunes after dinner and that seemed to bring people back down to earth after a super dreamy day on the lake.
